In order for you to become a Pet Professional on Paw Life you must at least be 18 years of age.

Pet Professionals on Paw Life are independent contractors. This means that you'll be running your own small business on Paw Life and won't be considered a Paw Life employee.

What is Paw Life?Paw Life is a platform that connects local vetted Pet Professionals and Pet Parents. It was started from our desire to have a more personalised option for our pets than what traditional kennels and boarding facilities can provide. We want pets to be part of a family while their owners are away or at work. Each pet is unique and Paw Life’s leading pet care community can help Pet Parents find the perfect match for their furry family member. Paw Life does not employ any Pet Professionals, Paw Life is the platform that connects the community.

Why should I trust Paw Life?Paw Life gives Pet Parents peace of mind because each Paw Life Pet Professional must complete our vetting process. Paw Life also conducts site visits on each property that will host pets to make sure it is a safe environment. Pet Professionals that have successfully completed our stringent background and reference checks will be listed on Paw Life. We take the safety of our Paw Life Pets and the quality of their care very seriously, consequently not everyone who applies to be a Paw Life Pet Professional is approved.

The following checks are done: Site visits are conducted by our skilled team to ensure the premise meets Paw Life’s high quality standards. In addition, each Pet Service Provider must supply 3 independent references which is validated before they can be listed.

What is the vetting process?Paw Life requires all Pet Carers to submit FICA documents for verification. Verification is conducted by a professional third party. Site visits are conducted by our skilled team to ensure the premise meets Paw Life’s high-quality standards. In addition, each Pet Carer must supply 3 independent references which is validated before they can be listed.

What are the service fees?Paw Life is here to make it easier for you to have a pet. Running Paw Life requires a few fixed costs like customer support and an innovative and secure platform used by pet lovers every day. These standard service fees help Paw Life to operate and continually improve to meet the needs of the community. Pet Professionals Pet Professionals are charged a percentage of the Booking. Visit our Service Fees page for the details. Owners Pet Parents are not charged a service fee for booking on Paw Life unless in violation of the Cancelation and Refund policy.

Can I use my Paw Life account as both a Pet Parent and Pet Professional?If you would like to be a Pet Professional but also have a pet and would like to find a Pet Professional who you can trust, then you are required to create two profiles on the Paw Life Service – one profile as a Pet Parent and the other profile as a Pet Professional. To use Paw Life as a Pet Parent, simply create an account and profile for your pet and begin searching for your perfect Professional. When you ready to care for other pets, just follow the steps to become a Pet Professional. After your profile is complete, it’ll be sent to our Team for review.

How do I get paid for bookings, and when?"While owners are charged at the time of booking, Paw Life keeps the funds until the service is complete. You'll see your payment ready for withdrawal in your Paw Life account three days after you've completed a service. Pet Professionals are to submit valid bank account details for successful payouts.

What are some of the reasons my profile might not be approved?We constantly ask one question, “Do we believe Pet Parents will have a great experience with this Pet Professional?” There are plenty of reasons why a profile might not be approved. Here are a few listed: Pet Professionals on Paw Life are a unique blend of caring and professional. If we don’t feel a profile reflects those traits, it may not be approved. For Pet Professionals offering in-home services, if it’s not evident that they can provide the individualized experience our pet parents are looking for. The content of the Pet Professional's profile doesn’t show us they’re able to safely separate the max number of dogs they want to accept at one time. This could include the profile description and/or photos of the premises.

Can I appeal the approval decision?Finding Pet Professionals who are the right fit for Paw Life is something we take very seriously. We do everything we can to be thorough the first time around, however, to appeal, further background checks will be conducted. A Pet Professional can only appeal once.

Can I retrieve my pictures, profile content, and testimonials?"Once a Pet Professional profile is deactivated, profile access is disabled - that includes access to any photos or information the provider added to their profile when creating it. All of that information is stored securely with Paw Life and will never be shared with other companies or become accessible to any third parties unless otherwise consented by you. What does Paw Life do with all the personal information I used to create my Pet Professional profile?Personal information is stored in our secure database. It’s not shared with other companies or accessible by any third parties. See our Privacy Policy. Pet Professional profiles will have a public view and private view. Personal information will only be visible in your private view.

How long will it take for Paw Life to review my profile?After you’ve completed your Pet Professional profile, Paw Life' team will review it within three (03) business days. Here's how to check on the progress of your profile review: Keep an eye on your email. We'll keep you updated along the way. Can I re-schedule a booking?Yes. If a Booking requires rescheduling more than 24 hours prior to the service period specified in a Booking, cancel the Booking and re-book for a different date using mechanisms on the Paw Life Service. You will receive a full refund of the Pet Service fee of the original Booking. If a Booking requires rescheduling less than 24 hours prior to the service period specified in a Booking, cancel the Booking and re-book with the same Pet Professional for a different date using mechanisms on the Paw Life Service. Upon successfully rescheduling with the same Pet Professional, send a request to support@pawlife.co.za to request a refund of the Pet Service fee of the original Booking.

How do I cancel a booking?If you wish to cancel a Booking prior to the service period specified in a Booking, you should make use of the ‘Cancel’ mechanisms on the Paw Life Service. The date of cancellation is the date that a user cancels by making use of the ‘Cancel’ mechanisms on the Paw Life Service regardless of any separate communications between users outside of the Paw Life Service. If a Booking is cancelled more than 24 hours prior to service period specified in a Booking, the Pet Parent will receive a full refund of the Pet Service fee. Refunds are processed on weekdays only, excluding public holidays. If the cancellation occurs less than 24 hours prior to the service period specified in a Booking, then the Pet Parent will forfeit the full Pet Service fee.
